As a lifelong lover of nature and travel, I have always been fascinated with native plants of the world, and with the indigenous people who live in places I've visited. My paintings reflect these interests with botanical paintings and scientific illustrations of plants, as well as portraits of the people of Latin America, where I have traveled widely.

Although I have considered myself a serious artist since I was 15, I put my art on the back burner to get a PhD in botany and to follow a career in Public Garden management. Upon retirement, I returned to painting and have won awards in competitions across South Texas, and teach botanical illustration and watercolor portraits. My work is represented in two prestigious art galleries, Nuevo Santander Gallery in McAllen, Texas and River's Edge Gallery in Kerrville, Texas.
